The Mighty Men of Gomberg

How many girls can say they're queen of a bunch of knights? I first discovered Gomberg house when my bestfriend Rachel pointed out there was a dorm at Micgican University baring my last name. I didn't believe her until she sent me a digi picture of "Gomberg House" in bronze lettering.

It's currently my cellphone wallpaper.

But all is not well at Gomberg house.
In 1996 the Michigan Daily Online noted "South Quad's Safety Week was created at the request of Coordinator of Residence Education Ellen Shannon, following a sexual assault that occurred in South Quad's Gomberg House earlier this semester. "After the Gomberg incident, the whole building was placed on a high alert status," said Albert Garcia, vice president of South Quad Council. "In a cooperative effort with Housing, the Department of Public Safety, Housing Security and Shannon, South Quad Council aims to increase overall student awareness."
Me-OUCH.


Still you most certantly can't judge a Gomberg by his past. Lord knows Gombergs are infamous for all kinds of crazy crap. My uncle once shaved off all his body hair, Moses Gomberg (whom the house is named after) shacked up with his sister till he died! Plus the "Gomberg incident" was 10 years ago! So I choose to forgive this past fault and instead honor the house that bares my family name.
